PTR, ITF Coaching Levels 1 & 2
During his high school years in Egypt, Matar realized just how much tennis meant to him. He acknowledges that the game has had a profound effect on the way he thinks and is thankful for the many challenges tennis has taught him to cope with as both a coach and a person.
Matar lived in the city of Giza, in Egypt, studied Physical Education, and also met other coaches. As part of his development as a teaching pro, he worked for a period of 8 years for the notable Ahmed El Gamal, a respected Egyptian coach, and player.
Matar then shifted gears and joined Smash Tennis Academy, where for 3 years he worked alongside the head of the International Tennis Federation in Egypt. Smash Academy is internationally recognized and has locations throughout Egypt. Mo was also fortunate enough to work with Emad Shokry, with whom, together, they developed numerous competitive players in the 12 and under age division, traveling extensively to accommodate his players. Mo's ultimate goal was to become a coach at the world-renowned IMG Bollettieri Academy in Florida but was presented with an opportunity to come to Tennis Match Academy in Pennsylvania, which Mo believes turned out to be a great decision. Matar thoroughly enjoys helping players of all levels improve and has come to consider Tennis Match Academy his second home.
