I first started playing pickleball about a year and a half ago. Having played ice hockey competitively since I was young, adapting some of those skills to pickleball helped me to advance rather quickly. I still have a long way to get to where I want but that’s the beauty of the sport. With some time, effort and proper instruction, you can go pretty far in pickleball. People should try pickleball because it is truly one of the most inclusive sports out there. You can go from playing with young kids, to peers, to 55 plus groups and have a completely different experience but total blast within each group. There is always something to be learned, to be found or places to explore in pickleball. It doesn’t matter what your level is either because there is always room for growth and improvement. Wish I had found this sport when I was younger but it really doesn’t matter when it comes to you. The beauty is that you found it, you’re here and I'd wager you will never look back!

 

Having been involved in sports my entire life as both a player and a coach, I have a firm understanding on what it takes to improve based on practice and execution of skills necessary to succeed in a sport. I have applied this same focus and mentality to education having worked for close to 20 years as a teacher and principal in public education. These sport and educational experiences have led me to where I am today as a pickleball coach.
